Shackleton House fundraising month for Mamų unija
March is our Shackleton House fundraising month for Mamų unija!
The British School of Vilnius is proud to support Mamų unija, a charity that helps children with cancer and their families from the moment of diagnosis through to recovery.
When a child becomes ill, the whole family is affected. Mamų unija works with medical institutions and the wider community to provide essential financial, emotional and practical support to families when they need it most.
One of their most important initiatives is the Family Home, located near Vilnius Santara Clinics, where families can stay free of charge to remain close to their child during treatment. Each year, more than 200 families are welcomed into this safe and supportive environment.
We are honoured to support the incredible work Mamų unija does for families across Lithuania.
We were delighted to welcome representatives from Mamų unija to our school assembly. They shared with the children the important and inspiring work their organisation undertakes to support children with cancer and their families.
To mark the beginning of our Shackleton fundraising month, the children wore yellow to show their support and help raise awareness for this very worthwhile cause.
We are grateful to Mamų Unija for taking the time to visit our school and for helping to inspire our community to support their valuable work
We are proud to support Mamų unija in bringing comfort and joy to children with cancer staying in the family home and hospital. We are collecting new toys, games and books to help brighten their days.
What we are looking for:
Toys and games for babies and toddlers
Lithuanian books for teenagers
Your donation can bring a moment of happiness, comfort and escape to children and families going through an incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for helping us make a difference.
