STAFF PROFILE - TEACHER

JAN KELLNER

“I BELIEVE THAT SCIENCE EDUCATION SHOULD EMPOWER STUDENTS TO BECOME INFORMED GLOBAL CITIZENS.”

I’m a UK-qualified secondary science teacher with a Master’s degree in Physics and Biology and over 16 years of teaching experience. I’ve had the privilege of teaching in the UK, Slovakia, Thailand, and France, working in several outstanding international schools. Currently, I’m teaching at the British School of Paris, delivering Science across Key Stages and specialising in A-Level Physics. I also serve as a Year 11 form tutor and lead extracurricular activities such as science challenge, fitness, table tennis and running club.

My educational philosophy centres around the belief that Science education should empower students to become informed global citizens capable of tackling real-world challenges—especially those related to climate change and sustainability. I strive to integrate these themes meaningfully into the curriculum, creating engaging lessons that connect academic content with the world around us. I am a versatile communicator who values building strong relationships with students and colleagues alike. My approach to education is both academically rigorous and deeply human, supporting not only students' intellectual growth but also their social and personal development.

About Mr Kellner

Outside the classroom, I’m passionate about the environment and enjoy spending time outdoors whether it’s hiking, cycling or running. I also love cooking and exploring new cuisines. I’m especially excited about discovering the beautiful nature around Vilnius, with its forests and lakes.
