STAFF PROFILE - LITHUANIAN TEACHER

Jurgita Jodkiene

“LANGUAGES ARE LEARNED MOST EFFICIENTLY WHEN STUDENTS ARE HIGHLY MOTIVATED AND HAPPY.”

If literature were a play, I’d probably be acting all the roles at once: teacher, historian, actress, psychologist, artist and even a friend. Sometimes my classroom feels less like a room and more like a stage where every student is the main character with their own story.

I enjoy my job so much that lessons often feel like little adventures. We read books, analyse characters, argue about their decisions and sometimes my students surprise me so much that I think their ideas deserve to be printed in the next school textbook. I teach, but at the same time I keep learning and that’s the real beauty of this profession.

About Ms Jodkiene

When I’m not rescuing commas or playing with words, I’m busy collecting… countries. Yes, really! For me, traveling is like reading books: every journey is a story full of discoveries. My family is my foundation, books are my meditation and when I sit by the fire with a guitar and friends, I’m no longer “the teacher,” just a person enjoying life’s simple wonders.

What students say about me:

  • Ms Jodkiene is responsible, hardworking and demanding, but always has a smile.

  • Ms Jodkiene tells interesting stories and can play any character from a book.

  • Ms Jodkiene cares about us.
